Pat's Pound the Bearcats 15-5

St. Catharine College Baseball hit the road Wednesday and the ball, as they racked up 15 hits in route to a 15-5 win over Brescia University.  The Patriots run their record to 15-9 and Brescia drops to 7-11.

Joey Xavier (Selma, CA) led the Bat Pat's with a 3-3 day at the plate.  He homered, scored 3 runs and knocked in 2.  Marcus Brown (Louisville, KY) went 3-4 with 2 triples, scoring twice and driving in 2 runs.  Tyler Mischel (St. Louis, MO) added a two hit day, adding a two-run homer.  Eric Standafer (Shelbyville, KY) had 2 doubles and 2 RBI's.  Jeremy Turpin (Lawrenceburg, KY) walked 3 times and went 1-1 with 3 runs and Andrew Garcia (Las Vegas, NV) added a double in his 1-3 day, also scoring 3 times.  Cody Miller (Yuba City, CA) added a 2 hit day.

Tony Krohman (Florence, KY) started and tossed 3 strong innings.  He ran into trouble in the 4th, giving up 3 straight hits and allowing 3 runs.  He scattered 5 hits and tallied 4 K's.  CJ Gant (Louisville, KY) hurled the middle 3 innings, giving up 1 unearned run on 5 hits.  He had 3 K's.  Nick Houlehan (Florence, KY) tossed the final frame, allowing an unearned run on a hit.

The Patriots hit the road again this weekend for Mid-South Conference action.  They travel to Williamsburg, KY to play the University of the Cumberlands.
