Southern High MVP signs with St. Catharine

With family and coaches in attendance, Kelsey Hayden signed with St. Catharine College to play intercollegiate soccer at Southern High School yesterday.

Kelsey was a standout Forward for Coach Kerry Floyd's Southern High Lady Trojans the past four seasons, and was named team Most Valuable Player in 2011.  During her high school soccer career, she has also been named Most Improved Player, Offensive Player of the Year, and Outstanding Junior in 2010.  Kelsey also plays soccer for Louisville Soccer Club in the spring.  In addition to being a strong athlete, Kelsey is strong in the classroom as well.  She is a member of both National Honor Society and the Beta Club and maintains a 4.0 Grade Point Average.  She plans to study Nursing at St. Catharine.

"When we saw her at our pre-season team camp for Southern, I knew I wanted to recruit her," noted Patriot Coach Paul Patton, present for the signing.  "Kelsey is a skilled soccer player and an outstanding student.  She works hard and has a great attitude.  I look forward to seeing what she can do with our team and I'm excited to coach her in the Fall."
