Bearcats Take a Bite Out of the Patriots

The Patriots fell to Brescia University yesterday, 7-6 and dropped to 27-15 on the year. Eight walks and three hit batters, sandwiched around 9 Bearcat hits doomed the Bat Pat's 13 hit comeback attack.

After back to back complete game performances, Jake Waardenburg (Klamath Falls, OR) struggled with command, tossing 4.2 innings and suffering his first loss of the season. He allowed 6 hits and 8 free bases via walk or hit by pitch, surrendering 7 earned runs. Scott Clemmons (Shelbyville, KY) tossed 4.1 innings of shut out ball. He allowed 0 runs on 3 hits and gave the Patriots a great come back chance.

Marcus Brown (Louisville, KY) went 3-4 with a triple, run and RBI. Jeremy Turpin (Lawrenceburg, KY) went 2-3 with a run and walked twice. Luis Zeledon (West Corina, CA) added 2 knocks and 2 batted in. Matt Dillman (La Grange, KY) went 2-4 and threw out 2 base runners.

The Patriots are at Morehead State University today for a 3:00 start against the NCAA DI Eagles. This weekend, they travel to MSC foe Campbellsville University for a 3-game set.
