Blue Raiders complete sweep over Bat Pats

After winning Friday’s opener, the visiting Blue Raiders from Lindsey Wilson College completed the three game sweep of the Bat Pats on Saturday. The visitors took game one 8-5 and won the second game 6-1.

The sweep gave the Blue Raiders the regular season championship in the Mid-South Conference. The Bat Pats fell to fifth place, one-half game behind Shawnee State. They will play a non-conference game at Union College on Wednesday before finishing the regular season at home this weekend with a three game conference series against UVA-Wise.

In game one on Saturday the Blue Raiders overcame a 4-3 deficit with five runs in the seventh inning en route to the 8-5 win. Javier Perez (Henderson Nev.),4-3, worked six innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on nine hits. Matt Pavelich (Vail, Ariz.) gave up two runs on four hits in three innings of relief.
