Patriots Ink Midfielder from Bishop Ready

Ciara Carr signs on with Women's Soccer

The Patriot Women's Soccer team added another outstanding player to their 2012 recruiting class when Ciara Carr signed an NAIA scholarship contract at Bishop Ready High School in Columbus, Ohio, Friday.

With her parents, Trent and Melissa Carr looking on, Ciara officially joined the Patriots in a signing ceremony in the Bishop Ready media center.  Ciara plays outside mid and forward, and has been a big part of Bishop Ready's success the past several years.  She been named by her team as the "Offensive MVP" and earned the "Hustle Award".  In 2011, Bishop Ready made the District Final for the first time in school history and Ciara was named First Team All Central Catholic League and Second Team All District.

Ciara also has a long history of club soccer, having played 2011 with the Santos, winning the Starburst Soccer Spectacular.  In previous seasons, Ciara played with Blast FC squad that were Blast College Showcase Champions, CASA Season Finale Champions, WAGS Tournament Champions, Donato's Soccer Classic Champions, Ohio South State Cup Semifinalistand Northern Ohio Cup Champions in 2008; as well as CASA Season Finale Tournament Champions, WAGS Tournament Semifinalist, Donato's Classic Champions, Spring A-Division MOSSL League Champions, Ohio South State Cup Semifinalist, and Blast Cup Champions in 2007.

"Ciara is an outstanding player with a lot of tournament experience playing for high level club squads and a solid high school program," noted Patriot Coach Paul Patton, present for the signing.  "I am excited that she has chosen to join St. Catharine.  She has a high soccer I.Q. and will contribute right away."

At the signing, Ciara thanked her parents, teammates, and coaches for the support over the years.  She noted that she is thankful for the opportunity to play at St. Catharine and has set goals of high achievement in academics and being a contributor on the soccer team.  She plans to study Nursing at St. Catharine.
