Women's Soccer Adds Transfer

Krista Ryker signs on for fall season.

Patriot Women's Soccer Coach, Paul Patton has recruited a large class of Freshmen that will join the program this fall.  He added some experience to go along with all that youth when Krista Ryker, a transfer from Arizona Christian University signed her scholarship contract last Friday.

Krista, the daughter of Steven and Virgie Ryker graduated from Prescott High School before going on to play two seasons at ACU.  Krista led her team in goals and assists as a freshman.  During her sophomore year she was shifted to a more defensive role and was named Captain of the team.  She will join St. Catharine this fall as a junior.

At Prescott, Krista played Midfield for a Badgers team coached by Juli Bais that were Region Champions three years and Arizona State Runner-up in 2009.  Krista earned the "Four Year Varsity" award as well as being named Second Team All Region twice and Honorable Mention All State twice.

In addition to her success on the soccer field, Krista is a leader in the classroom.  She graduated from Prescott with distinction, was Induction Coordinator for the National Honor Society, and earned a Presidents Scholarship to ACU.  Krista plans to study Health Science or Biology at St. Catharine with a goal of moving on to Graduate studies.

Patriot Coach Paul Patton on Krista; "We are lucky to have such an accomplished student-athlete join our recruiting class for the fall.  Krista is a strong student and will be an impact player on the pitch.  She will bring leadership, maturity, and experience to a young group of recruits this fall."
