Patriot volleyball falls at Cumberlands

Not that the outcome was favorable to the Patriots in Tuesday’s volleyball match at the University of the Cumberlands. But one can say that it was a consistent effort for St. Catharine as they lost all three sets by the same 25-22 score.

Consistency, however, wasn’t the rule in the Patriots’ play at the net where they compiled a .050 hitting percentage. Casey Stone led in that category at .231 while Rebecca Just had the most kills with 10. Cumberlands, 8-5 overall and 2-2 in the Mid-South Conference, hit at a .109 clip.

The loss dropped St. Catharine to 4-12 overall and 0-4 in conference play. The Patriots will return to the court this weekend with three conference games to be played at Georgetown College. On Friday they play Rio Grande and Saturday they play Shawnee State and Pikeville.
