Senior Bat Pats Win on Senior Day

The St. Catharine College Baseball (34-20, 16-11 MSC) team honored their 12 seniors on Sunday and walked away winners with a 5-3 win against #28 Rio Grande University. The Patriots won the series with that win, taking the season series with the second place Red Storm, 2 games to 1.

Senior Nick Holmes (4-5) picked up the win, tossing 6 stong innings. He allowed 3 runs and had 5 punch outs and gave up only 6 hits. Junior Brad Krohman picked up his seventh save on the year, pitching the final frame and allowing no runner to reach base.

Senior Josh Landers went 2-3 with 2 RBI's, a run and a triple. Senior Daniel Bentley went 1-2 with a double and 2 runs and senior Justin Witt went 1-3 with 2 RBI's. Junior Adam Blair had a 3-3 day with a run.

The Patriots will face the University of the Cumberlands in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament. The games are scheduled to begin Friday, with a double header on Saturday. The weather may change the schedule, so stay tuned.
