Former Patriot hurler, Kyle Medley signed a professional contract with the Shreveport-Bossier Captains of the American Association. The American Association is a independent professional baseball league for former professional players and free agents. Medley played for the Patriots in 2006 and 2007. He signed with Belhaven College in Jackson, MS where he set school records for saves and was named NAIA All-American.

"We are excited for Kyle," commented Patriot Skipper Luther Bramblett. "Has has worked hard for the shot and was here all spring working out. We wish him the best and hope he continues to climb the professional ladder."

Medley joins three other former Patriots that are currently playing independent professional baseball.
