Tigers Claw Patriots 73-60

       The Campbellsville Tigers (18-11, 11-8) bolted to a 21-7 lead to start the game Saturday and were never really challenged as the Patriots absorbed a 73-60 setback.

       The Campbellsville advantage stood at 16 points, 33-17, at the break and the closest the Patriots could get after halftime was nine points with 12:44 to play. The lead grew to as many as 24 points before St. Catharine whittled the final margin to 13.

       The Patriots(13-12, 9-10) shot just 30 percent from the field but were more respectable from long range as they hit 33 percent (8-24) on 3-point attempts. They made 10 of 17 free throws (59 percent).

       Will Tolefree led three Patriots in double figures with 16 points. Arthur McMillan added 13 and Stephen McCray had 11. Tolefree had 13 rebounds to lead the patriots to a 44-40 advantage on the boards. Campbellsville shot 42 percent from the field and was led in scoring by Malik Thomas with 16 points. The Tigers were 6-21 (29 percent from behind the arc and made 19 0f 24 free throws (79 percent).
