Women's Soccer Signs South Laurel MVPMay 1, 2013
Mariah House, the two year Captain and MVP of the South Laurel High School Lady Cardinals soccer team, signed an NAIA Scholarship Contract to officially join the St. Catharine College Women's Soccer Team today.
Mariah played defender for South Laurel, where she was a 4-time District Champion, a 3-time Regional Champion, and played in the State Tournament Elite 8 in 2012. Mariah was named JV MVP, Varsity Rookie of the Year, and earned the Iron Man Award in 2009. She played Goalkeeper as a sophomore and earned 10 shutouts and the Defensive Player of the Year award. In 2011 Mariah was named Varsity Captain, Varsity MVP, All-District 31, and All-Region 16. During her Senior Year, in 2012, Mariah was again named Varsity Captain, Varisty MVP, and earned recognition as All-District 49 and All-Region 13.
Mariah is also a standout in the classroom. She is a regulary on the Honor-Roll and the Principal's List, she has been a Peer Mentor for special needs students, she was a Roger's Scholar Nominee, and was named a WYMT Mountain Classic Scholar. Mariah plans to major in Medical Imaging at St. Catharine in addition to playing on the soccer team.
