St. Catharine Athletes Earn All-Conference Honors in Spring Sports

In addition to the honors received in softball (see related article, this issue) the spring sports programs at St. Catharine College had numerous athletes who earned All-Conference honors.

Four Patriot golfers and three track and field athletes were recognized for academic achievement buy being named to the Academic All- Mid-South Conference team. A student/athlete must have at least a 3.25 grade point average and a minimum of sophomore academic status to earn the award.

From the Patriots’ men’s golf team Matt Bloom and Michael Hardin were Academic All-Conference selections while Julie Clark and Jessica Shelton received the honor from the SC women’s team.

On the women’s track and field team Michelle Dunaway, Porsha Ellison and Lindsey Vinson were Academic All-Conference.

Due to winning a conference event at the track and field championships, Nicole Peterson and Troy Mattingly were named All Mid-South Conference first team. Mattingly won the decathlon and Peterson won the 100 meter hurdles.
