Women's Soccer Releases 2013 Schedule

The St. Catharine College Women's Soccer Team is proud to announce its 2013 schedule. The schedule includes 18 Varsity matches, 12 Reserve matches, and 2 scrimmages.

The pre-season consists of two home scrimmages. The first is against Kentucky Wesleyan College, who return to the Patriot's schedule after a 1 year hiatus and the second is versus Spalding University.

The regular season kicks off with a trip to Tennessee for the Freed Hardeman Labor Day Tournament. This will be the third time the Patriots have competed in the tournament and the second year in a row. The non-conference slate is highlighted by bookend away trips at Marion University to begin the year and West Liberty University to end the season. Both schools are first time opponents for the Patriots in 2013. Another first will be a regular season Varsity home match versus Asbury University. While Asbury has been a regular opponent, in previous years the competition had always been a pre-season scrimmage.

The Mid-South Conference schedule is headlined by an October 1 road match versus perennial powerhouse and defending NAIA Champion, Lindsey Wilson College. With no new schools joining the Mid-South this season, the batch of opponents will be familiar, but still formidable. The MSC Conference Tournament Champion, Cumberland University, made it to the second round of the NAIA Tournament and finished the year ranked 14th in the nation. Campbellsville University and Georgetown University have been near the top of the conference for years, while rivalry games versus the University of Pikeville at home and on the road against the University of Rio Grande make the Mid-South one of the toughest conferences in the nation.

On the Reserve side of the schedule, in addition to competing against the reserve squads of many fellow Mid-South Conference members, several matches against junior colleges will be a stern test this season. Three match-ups of note are a home and away series with Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC), an early home game versus Cincinnati State Community and Technical College, and a late season home game versus Kaskaskia College.

The whole season wraps up with the Mid-South Conference Tournament that begins on November 9th, with the Championship Game taking place on November 16th.
