Former Patriot Xavier Keeling Lands New Professional Contract

Former Patriot basketball standout Xavier Keeling snagged a deal with the Al Shurtah Police of the Iraq Professional Basketball League Division 1 Level.

It was reported January 22, 2014 by the Eurobasket News Center, the former Patriot basketball star Xavier Keeling has signed with the Al Shurtah Police. According to Eurobasket News “26 year old Keeling played with Al Kahraba last season and helped the team to win the league title. He was supposed to play at Al Kahraba this season but a few personal problems did not allow him to join the team for this season.”

While at St. Catharine during the 2010-2011 season, Keeling averaged 11.5 points per game, 5.68 rebounds per game, and two assists per night. Keeling helped Patriots to a Mid-South Conference Runner-Up finish in the conference tournament and an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri. In addition, the 6’ 5” forward “has previously played professionally in Chile (Sokol de Antofagasta) and Peru (Regatas).”
