Bowling Takes their Snow Boots to the Lanes in Chicago

The Alley Pats took to the “Windy City” to compete in the KEGAL/ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Bowling Classic over the weekend.

After, what Head Coach Larry Luvisi would call, “an adventurous bus trip to Chicago” the St. Catharine Alley Pats looked to continue their success on the 2014 campaign. For the men, Jamie Wallingford (Bardstown, Ky.) snagged a team high nine game total of 1694, with his highest game topping out at a stellar 268. Wallingford’s success was good enough to capture a 82nd place finish out of 390 competitors. Mark Browning (Louisville, Ky.), Billy Lundy (Louisville, Ky.), and Craig Cox (Louisville, Ky.) all recovered in their final games to finish strong and finish in the top half of the field.

The women’s squad was led by another strong outing from Tiffany Webb (Louisville, Ky.) with her nine game total of 1701 and top 40 finish. Webb had her strongest game in set number four when she pulverized the pins with a stunning 278. Nicole Denman (Lakemoor, Ill.) came in right behind her teammate with her 1565, rolling a 187 in her second set. The Lady Alley Pats completed their weekend with a total of 7775, just nine pins out of a top 30 finish. With their strong finish the Patriots defeated NCAA Division 1 opponents Toledo, Louisville, Northern Kentucky, Michigan State, and several NCAA Division 2 opponents.

The Patriots will hit the lanes again January 25, when they travel to Richmond, Kentucky for the Bulldog Classic.
