Softball Takes on the Blue Raiders

The softball Patriots took to the road to face a loaded Lindsey Wilson College squad.

The Lady Patriots knew that they were in for an uphill battle against a highly touted Lindsey Wilson College club that had won the conference in the previous two seasons. Unfortunately for the Patriots, the Blue Raiders would jump on top early in game one and never look back. For the Patriots, Tiffany Wickline (Georgetown, Ky.) was unable to continue her early game success on the mound as the Blue Raiders would strike for six run in the bottom of the fourth to win 12-2 via the run rule.

Game two proved to have much of the same results as the Patriot offense couldn’t muster enough runs to avoid a 10-2 loss. However, Brittany McKee (Somerset, Ky.) had a standout performance at the plate in game two as she went 2-3 with a homerun and a run batted in for the Patriots. Taylor Steff (Louisville, Ky.) drove home the only other Patriots run as she singled in Ramie Goldey in the top of the first.

The Patriots will be in action once more Wednesday, when they host Asbury University at Salt River Electric filed with a 2 PM first pitch.
