Women's Soccer Adds Transfer 'Keeper

Kelsey Givens took the long route to St. Catharine College. After two years at Georgetown College and Eastern Kentucky University, the Richmond, Kentucky native has found her way to St. Catharine and is the newest member of the Patriot Women's Soccer team.

"I am very excited that Kelsey has decided to join out team," remarked Coach Paul Patton. She had a solid year as a starter for Georgetown in 2012. Things didn't work out for her there, but I think the experience she gained in attending two other colleges will serve her well both in the classroom and on the field. In addition, the experience she brings on the field will help us, as we have a young group of goalkeepers coming in."

Kelsey spent the 2012 soccer season between the pipes for conference rival Georgetown College, earning shutouts in both of her starts against St. Catharine. She spent time at EKU last academic year but did not play soccer. Now, solidly in the fold at St. Catharine, Kelsey will enter the fall as a junior academically but will have three years of soccer eligibility remaining.
