Volleyball Lands Arizona Libero

With volleyball season just around the corner, the St. Catharine College Patriots snagged standout libero Tianna Hayes. Tianna Hayes, daughter of Gladys Bundy and Eric Hayes, has decided to continue her volleyball career at St. Catharine College. Tianna, a 5’3 libero originally from Tempe, Arizona, played her high school career at McClintock High School before playing her first year of college volleyball at Colorado Northwestern Community College. Tianna will look to make the transition into the competitive environment of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) after spending her first year in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC), a conference that sent two teams to the National Junior College Athletic Association National tournament in 2013. Not only did Tianna compete in the SWAC, but she led her Colorado Northwestern Spartans in digs and was one of two freshmen in the top leaders for digs in the SWAC. Outside of her college and high school career, Tianna played libero for Arizona Heat 18’s, a team that she lead to the 2013 USA Volleyball Girl’s Junior National Championships for the first time in club history. “I believe that I can add to a talented recruiting class and bring my knowledge of the game to the Patriots from my playing time at all levels” commented Hayes. Tianna will begin her journey as a Patriot in August when she joins the squad for preseason workouts.
