Volleyball Embraces a Sense of Community

Community is a term that the St. Catharine College Lady Patriots embraced this week, as Head Coach Jason McDannold led his squad into the Washington County High School gymnasium to work with the Commanderettes.

"It's always a positive for our girls to get out and work with those involved in high school volleyball. Especially those kids that are playing right here in our backyard" said McDannold. The Patriots spent a total of three days working with the Washington County net minders, drilling, practicing communication skills, and a variety of other volleyball specific techniques. "Our girls have a lot of fun doing these type of camps" remarked McDannold. "They are able to sharpen their own skills and, who knows, maybe convince a younger athlete to become a Patriot after high school."

The Patriots will wrap up their camp today with the Commanderettes and move closer to their own preseason workouts.
