Women's Soccer Reserves Run Record to 6-0

The Patriot Women's Soccer Reserves traveled to the University of the Cumberlands yesterday and came away with another win.

Twenty four minutes into the game, a Cumberlands' foul resulted in a Patriot free kick. Courtney Hagedorn crossed the ball into Sara Herbert who redirected it to the feet of Mary Ezaizat. Mary fired it into the goal for a 1-0 lead. Four minutes past halftime, Rachael Harbison served up a free kick to the head of Malorie Steele, who put it just inside the far post for the insurance goal. 

The Patriots had another great chance in the last 10 minutes when Sara Herbert fed Courtney Anderson who hammered a shot that rebounded off the crossbar. Anderson had a chance on the rebound, but the shot slipped over the bar. The score held up to the end of regulation and the Patriots go the victory by a 2-0 score.

The win runs their record to 6-0 on the season with 5 shutouts. The team has allowed only 1 goal so far on the season. The Reserve Squad will be in action again on Monday, October 27 at 6pm at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC). The game will be played at TK Stone Middle School in Elizabethtown. The season wraps up for the Reserve Squad on Tuesday, October 27 at Centre College for a 6pm kickoff.
