Whitney Spencer Joins Patriots

Wayne County High School Girls Soccer standout, Whitney Spencer, signed to play her college soccer at St. Catharine College. The signing took place in the high school library this afternoon. Whitney, the daughter of Tommy and Angie Spencer, played three years of Varsity Soccer for Coach Kelli Hammond's Wayne County squad. She capped off her career by being named Honorable Mention All Region 12 her senior year. Whitney is also a standout in the classroom and is a member of the National Honor Society. Coach Hammond noted, "Whitney works hard on the field and never gives up. She has a goal and will go after her goal." Whitney plans to pursue a degree in Athletic Training to become an Athletic Trainer and work with other athletes after she graduates. Patriot Coach Paul Patton, on hand for the signing, stated, "I'm excited to sign Whitney. She brings some more height to the team and will be a solid player in the air. She is also a hard worker and tries to improve every day. I think she has a lot of potential and will be an asset to our team.
