Volleyball receives another commitment for 2015

Jason McDannold has hit the recruiting road hard in the offseason as he’s looking to replace four seniors.

McDannold recently received his fifth commitment for the 2015 season. Brooke Sauer recently signed a scholarship to join the Patriot volleyball program next season. Sauer is originally from Crawford County, Ind. and is a senior from Crawford County High School. She plays either middle hitter or outside hitter.

Her volleyball career started when she was in the seventh grade and she played for the Crawford County junior high team. She then moved up to the high school level, where she has started varsity all four years of high school. In her senior year she was named to the All-Conference team. Sauer has also played for Aspire, a volleyball club team in French Lick, Ind. for two years.

Sauer said she fell in love with St. Catharine in the summer, “I fell in love with St. Catharine at a summer camp where I stayed with the team and had the chance to play with them.” Sauer noted, “As soon as my mom and I pulled out of SC, I instantly wanted to turn around and go back. There was no question that this is where I wanted to play.”

“Sauer is a great addition to have for next season. She will give us some much needed help next season” explained head coach Jason McDannold. “She will play right away next year as a true freshman”

Sauer says she plans on majoring in sonography when she arrives on campus in the fall of 2015.
