Patriots Named NAIA Player's to Watch

Three Patriot baseball members were named 2015 NAIA player's to watch by Collegiate Baseball Magazine this weekend at the ABCA national convention in Orlando, Fla.  Senior John Werner (Anaheim, CA), junior Jake McCoy (Mesa, AZ) and sophomore Alfredo Bohorquez (Maracaibo, Venezuela) were selected to the list.

"We're excited for these guys," stated Patriot skipper Luther Bramblett.  "All three have worked hard on and off the field and we're glad they've been recognized for their work."

Werner led the Patriots last year with 83 innings of work.  He won 6 games with a 3.58 ERA while striking out 80.  He held opponents to a .223 batting average.  Werner was picked 1st Team All Conference last year.

McCoy led the Patriots out of the pen last year.  He tallied 9 saves and picked up 3 wins.  He punched out 21 in 27 innings and held opponents to a .227 average.  McCoy was named 2nd Team All Conference last season.

Bohorquez led the Pats with a .320 average.  He scored 43 times while adding 63 hits.  He added 38 stolen bases and had a .412 OBP.  Bohorquez won the MSC Gold Glove at second base and was named 2nd Team All Conference last year.

The Patriots open up on February 6th at the University of Mobile.
