Dozer Earns Rank Of Eagle Scout

Wednesday, May 27, 2009 - Miles Dozer, a recently signed soccer recruit for St. Catharine College, will receive the rank of Eagle Scout in a ceremony this Saturday, May 30. Miles, a standout soccer player and student at Muhlenberg North High School, earned the rank over the last several years in the Boy Scouts of America.
For his service project he helped to preserve a number of stories from men in the Muhlenberg County community who fought in World War II. He secured the area to do the interviews and the manpower to do the project. He then had help from his Assistant Scoutmaster to edit the video and sound and to burn it onto DVD. Miles gave copies to all the county schools, school board members, to both of the local libraries, to the county Genealogical Historical Society, and to the veterans who told their stories.
Because of Miles' efforts, part of Muhlenberg County's history has been preserved. The men's stories will always be remembered, and are now very accessible to the public. Many in the county have already commented on how much they have enjoyed learning the men's stories through Miles' work. Miles goal was to make sure that we do not forget our past and what these men and our country went through during World War II.

St. Catharine College and the Soccer Program congratulate Miles on his accomplishment during the project, and in earning the rank of Eagle Scout. We are proud to have him as part of our program and excited that he will be joining us this fall.
