Trivette Signs with Patriot Soccer

Thursday, June 11 - Frankfort High School's Mark Trivette signed an NAIA letter of intent to play soccer at St. Catharine College today. Over the course of four years, Mark appeared in 72 varsity matches as a Defender and Midfielder for Coach Sherrill Smith's Frankfort High Team. Those teams won 40 games and Mark earned much recognition. He won the Work Ethic Award in 2005, was named to the Frankfort Invitational All-Tournament Team in 2006, earned the Best Defensive Unit award in 2007, and in 2008 he again won the Work Ethic Award and was named to the Capitol City Classic All-Tournament Team. As an indication of just how strong the Panther defense was that Mark was a part of; 21 of the 40 matches that Frankfort High won were shutouts.

Mark's High School Coach, Sherrill G. Smith was understandably proud of Mark's signing. He noted, "I'm so pleased that Mark will get the chance to play at the next level. In my mind, Mark embodies the ideas of dedication and commitment. He gave his all to make the Frankfort High Soccer team excel. Mark has great vision of the field and excellent speed. He will be an impact player on the next level. He can play any position from Striker, halfback to fullback."
