Broady two back after First Round of SCC Fall Tournament

Bardstown, Ky. -- Sophomore, Will Broady is currently two shots off the pace after the first round of the St Catharine College Fall Tournament at Bardstown Country Club in Bardstown, Ky.

The Greenville, Ky. native finished the first round of the tournament in a tie for fourth place. Broady posted a 1-over 73 over the opening 18 holes. He trails three players who are tied atop the leaderboard at 1-under 71.

Senior, Michael Hardin (Bloomfield, Ky.) shot a 3-over 75 in the opening round. Hardin will enter the second round in a tie for seventh place.

Shaun Gordon (Vine Grove, Ky.) was also in action at the first round. Gordon is currently in a tie for 12th place after shooting a 78 in the opening 18 holes. Teammate, Austin Mitchell (Shepherdsville, Ky.) is also in a tie for 12th place after the first round.

Michael Vuick (Taylorsville, Ky.) and Brandon Cambron (Louisville, Ky.) finished the first round shooting 79 and 81 respectively for the Patriots.

Gran Hayes (Lawrenceburg, Ky.) and Josh Koester (Louisville, Ky.) rounded out the scoring for the Patriots. Hayes finished the first 18 holes with an 82, while Koester posted an 84.

Cole Ballard (Bardstown, Ky.) was also in action during the first round. Ballard finished with an 82. Jarrett Hill (Crestwood, Ky.) and Logan Medley (Lebanon, Ky.) were the final two Patriots to play the opening 18 holes. They finished with an 83 and an 84 respectively.

As a team the Patriots first team sits in fourth place after posting a 308 in the first round. They trail Fisk (Tenn.) by just one stroke (307) and Asbury (Ky.) by four strokes (304). The second team for St. Catharine sits in sixth place after finishing with a 322. The field is chasing Pikeville (Ky.) who leads the tournament with a 294 in the first round.

The second and final round of the St. Catharine Fall Tournament begins on Tuesday morning.
