Women's Soccer Drops Three Straight

The Patriot Women's Soccer team has had a rough stretch in the schedule, losing three straight matches despite scoring in all of them, to drop their record to 5-10-0 on the season.

The first match was at Cumberland University (RV).  Despite 2 goals by Kindsay Miller-Riney and a goal apiece by Vannah Moreland and Bethany Massey, the Patriots dropped the match by an 8-4 score.  Rachel Palazzo and Courtney Anderson each recorded an assist in the match.

The Patriots came home to face the University of the Cumberlands and they looked great through 58 minutes, leading 3-0 on goals by Rachel Palazzo, Vannah Moreland, and Bethany Massey.  After that, the wheels came off.  In the 59th minute, Cumberlands was awarded a penalty kick after a handball in the Patriot penalty box.  Asha Vilaythong put in the kick and the momentum shifted totally.  Cumberlands scored 3 more goals in the final 30 minutes to win the match 4-3.  Bethany Massey and Kindsay Miller-Riney each recorded and assist in the match.

After that heart-breaker, the Patriots went on the road at Union College.  It wasn't the Patriots day as they were defeated by the Bulldogs 6-1.  The loan goal in the match was scored by Bethany Massey off an assist by Rachel Palazzo.

The Patriots will be in action next at Kentucky Christian University on October 27.
