Patriots Battle To 0-0 Tie On The Road

The Patriots Men's Soccer Team batted to a 0-0 tie against a bigger, stronger opponent in Young Harris College in Georgia. Both teams had chances to score throughout the match but big saves by Senior Adam Gillcrist and a disciplined performance by theentire team on defense held off a very dangerous attack by Young Harris. Late in the match SCC had great opportunities to score but came up short as Nini Mohamed's breakaway was stopped by the goalkeeper, Patrick Williams' breakaway went high, and Sam Kpoh hit the post. Coach Wolz said after the match, "It was a great team effort. The players that came off the bench gave us a boost when we needed it and the other players worked hard for the entire regular time and two ten (10) minute sudden victory overtimes. The discipline of the team was most impressive. We never got rattled by the referees, the physical play or the impressive attack by Young Harris. To us this was a big step in the right direction and as good as a win!"
