#6 seed St. Catharine earned their trip to the Final Four by taking two of three games at the #3 seed University of Pikeville last weekend. Pitching carried the Patriots as they limited the Bears offense to just 2.33 earned runs over the 3 games. The Pat offense was led by senior Tyler Devine (Harrodsburg, KY) who batted .545 (6-11) with 2 doubles, 4 RBI's and a run scored.

#1 seed Campbellsville swept two games from Shawnee State University to get to the final site. Campbellsville is led by a surging offense, scoring 27 runs in two games against the Bears. The Tiger staff has been dominant as well, boasting a 3.65 overall ERA.

The Patriots took two of three games from the Tigers earlier in the year, losing the opener (4-0) in 11 innings and sweeping the DH (4-3, 7-0). Look for a different game Friday as both squads are playing at a different level in early May.

The Patriots are led by a strong pitching core, with MSC Pitcher of the Year Daniel Lerma (Oxnard, CA) leading the way with a 1.51 ERA in over 95 innings pitched. Joan Pena (Bronx, NY) boasts a 3.12 ERA and 75 K's in 75 innings pitched. Marvin Galarza (Arecibo, PR) chips in a 3.38 ERA in over 60 innings. Jake McCoy (Mesa, AZ) leads the pen with 9 saves and a 1.99 ERA with 38 K's in just over 22 innings.

Offensively the Pats are led MSC Player of the Year, Alfredo Bohorquez (Maracaibo, Venezuela). He is batting .341, with 11 triples, 30 RBI's, 47 runs and 34 stolen bases. Devine leads the Patriots with a .344 average and has 34 RBI's. Hector Quinones (Barceloneta, PR) leads the team with 53 RBI's and is batting .337 with 17 doubles and 5 homeruns. Nicco Lollio (Brownstown, MI) leads the Bat Pats with 8 long balls and 19 doubles, also adding 33 RBI's and a .294 average.

Campbellsville is lead offensively by Cameron Ketchen (.388, 4 HR, 37 RBI), Nestor Linares (.349, 5 HR, 23 RBI) and Richard Ramirez (.346, 3 HR, 20 RBI). They have quality pitching as well, led by Mario Morales (7-4, 2.20 ERA), Nick Przybylek (7-2, 3.21 ERA) and closer Jake Pannunzio (5-1, 13 saves, 1.02 ERA). They are currently ranked #20 in the NAIA baseball poll.
