Women's Soccer Wins Njcaa Region 7 Crown

The St. Catharine Lady Patriots soccer team hosted Hiwassee College for the NJCAA Region 7 Championship. As expected this was a close one. These two teams have played twice this season, with SCC winning both by a score of 1-0.

The Lady Patriots controlled the play throughout, outshooting Hiwassee 10-4 for the game. However, cracking the Hiwassee defense would prove difficult most of the game. In the 29th minute of the first half, a Hiwassee foul just outside the penalty box gave SCC a free kick. Monica Milesky took the kick, powering it into the Hiwassee goal for a 1-0 St. Catharine lead. Despite not being able to finish off another goal, the St. Catharine defense held strong for the shutout and the 1-0 win.

The NJCAA Region 7 Champion, St. Catharine College Lady Patriots now hold a record of 7-6-2 and will play Polk Community College in the NJCAA District F Semi-Finals on Friday, November 2 in Auburndale, Florida.
