Lady Patriots drop a close one on the road

Thursday, September 9 - The Lady Patriots soccer team traveled to Indiana to face off against the Oakland City University Mighty Oaks in a match today. The game was evenly played with both teams playing solid soccer. The Mighty Oaks struck first with a goal from a corner kick to take a 1-0 halftime lead.

The Lady Patriots came out looking to even it up in the second half, but were unable to score in the early going. A controversial hand-ball call midway through the second half resulted in a penalty kick of OCU. SCC Goalkeeper Tabby Shirley made a valiant attempt to save the kick, but to no avail. OCU took a 2-0 lead on the play and there defense held through the half. The final score stood at OCU 2, SCC 0.
