Mattingly Joins Soccer, Will Play 2

Monday, March 16 - Patriot softball player Laura Mattingly signed today to play soccer for St. Catharine as well. Laura was a 2008 graduate of Marion County High School where she also played softball and soccer. She earned the 110% award, was named Best Defender, and earned All-District and All-Region honors in 2006 and 2007.

She came to St. Catharine in fall of 2008 to study Radiography. Her plan was to only play softball her freshman year in order to make the transition from high school easier. Now into her second semester and with softball season well underway, she has made the decision to play two sports next year.

"I am excited to have Laura join our team. She is a quality player and will help us a lot. Laura should continue to be an asset to the softball team as well. I am grateful that Coach Smith is willing to share Laura with us," commented SCC Soccer Coach Paul Patton.
