Friday, September 4 - The SCC Lady Patriots Soccer team hosted Ursuline College, from Northern Ohio, in a match at Barber field today. Lee Ann Walker was solid in goal as SCC was outshot heavily in the first half. Ursuline evened the score 35 minutes into the game to head into halftime tied at 1.

SCC picked up the pace in the second half and the play was pretty even throughout. Nine minutes later, Cortney Mattingly was called for a foul 23 yards from the SCC goal. Ursuline scored on the free kick to tie the game up again. Both teams had several chances in the waining moments, but the score remained tied throughout regulation.

Overtime would consist of two 10 minute periods of 'golden goal' soccer. Whoever scored first would win the game immediately. Both teams played solid in the first period, with Ursuline getting a few more opportunities, but neither team was able to score the game winner.
