Long Is First To Sign With Lady Patriots

Friday, October 16, 2009 - Meade County High School standout, Paige Long, signed an NAIA Letter of Intent to play soccer for St. Catharine College today. Long, who lettered in Basketball as well as Soccer at Meade County High, will join the Patriots in August, 2010. She is the first player in the class of 2010 to sign with the Lady Patriots.

Patriot Head Coach, Paul Patton was very glad to sign Paige. He commented, "Paige will be an impact freshman for us next year. She lead Meade in scoring all four years, and I expect she will fit in with our offense, and generate goals and assists right away. The fact that she plays on the boys team in the spring with Vine Grove Vipers will help her adjust quickly to the increased speed of the college game."

Long was named Honorable Mention All District 3 times at Meade, and plays both Striker and Midfield. She is currently undecided on a major.
