Women's Soccer Earns Second Tie of Season

Saturday, October 24 - The SCC Women's Soccer team traveled 5 hours to Freed Hardeman University for a match today. After a disappointing loss to Campbellsville, the Patriots were looking for a better showing. SCC started the match somewhat tentative and let FHU control the tempo. However, after a close call in which an FHU shot rebounded off the Goalpost but did not go in, SCC seemed to gain momentum.

Krista Russell put a shot away for SCC to open the scoring, and the Patriots looked like they might go home with a win. However, FHU answered on a corner kick and regulation ended 1-1. Overtime ensued, and both teams fought for chances. After 20 scoreless minutes the game ended in a 1-1 tie.

The SCC Women's Soccer team now holds a 6-5-2 record with 4 games to play. The travel next to top ranked Lindsey Wilson College on Monday, October 26th.
