Manual Midfielder Signs With St. Catharine

Sunday, February 21, 2010 - Michelle Dunaway, a Midfielder for DuPont Manual High School, signed an NAIA letter of intent to play her collegiate soccer at St. Catharine College today. "I'm excited to play next year at St. Catharine," stated Dunaway, who played outside midfield for Coach Rick Underwood at Manual. In addition to Manual High School, Dunaway also played for Louisville Soccer Club's '92 team and earned the 'Most Outstanding Player' award for a 2008 Clarksville, Tennessee tournament.

Dunaway also excels in the classroom and has earned an academic scholarship at St. Catharine to complement her soccer scholarship. She plans to study education at SCC with a long term goal of earning a master's degree and teaching.

"Michelle will be an excellent addition to our team," noted Patriot Coach Paul Patton. "She has been a strong player for both a competitive club team and a very strong high school team. She knows what it means to work hard and achieve success. Michelle's signing today makes an already good recruiting class even better."
