Patton Takes Over Solely As Women's Soccer Coach

Tuesday, January 26, 2010 - St. Catharine College Athletic Director, Mike Doig announced a reorganization of the coaching staff for the Patriot Soccer Programs today. Beginning February 1, current Men's and Women's Coach, Paul Patton will take over sole duties as the Head Women's Soccer Coach, while Tim Wolz will become the new Head Men's Soccer Coach (see related story in Men's Soccer). Coach Paul Brooks, previously a part time assistant and goalkeeper coach for both the men and women will move into the position of Assistant Women's Soccer Coach and will work with all aspects of the program including a focus on developing and coaching the goalkeepers.

"I am excited that we are able to take this huge step forward for our soccer programs, and I appreciate the hard work and support of our Athletic Director, Mike Doig, President Huston, and the entire Administration in making this possible." stated Coach Patton. "I believe both teams will benefit greatly from this move. If we are to move forward and become true competitors in the Mid South Conference, this was a necessary move. I am very excited to be working with the Women's Program and Coach Brooks and think this is an opportunity for us, as coaches, to do more and help the team and players achieve more." He added, "I'm also excited to work with Tim Wolz. I think he will step in where I left off and take the Men's Team to a higher level. I hope we will be able to learn a lot from each other."
