Vinson Becomes A Patriot

Wednesday, March 10, 2010 - St. Catharine College Women's Soccer Coach, Paul Patton, is pleased to announce the signing of Lindsey Vinson. Surrounded by her family, teammates, and coaches; Vinson, a standout Goalkeeper for Dawson County High School and the Forsyth Fusion Soccer Club, signed an NAIA letter of intent during a ceremony in the Dawson County High School Library today.

Vinson has been the starting Goalkeeper for Coach Rick Corwin's Dawson County High School team the past two seasons. She was named to the All Region Team and was named team Most Valuable Player during her junior season in 2009. Her senior season is currently underway. In addition to being a standout on the soccer field, Lindsey is strong in the classroom. She is a perennial honor roll student and will graduate with Honors in 2010. She will also receive an academic scholarship in addition to her soccer scholarship at St. Catharine. Her academic goals are to graduate with a degree in Biology and eventually earn a Master's Degree and a Doctorate.

"Today is a good day for Patriot Soccer," stated Patton. "Lindsey is an outstanding Goalkeeper and I expect we will be strong at that position now that we will have three quality 'keepers. I think Lindsey will be a great fit for our school and team, and I think she will have the opportunity to make an impact as a freshman."
