Torgerson Joins Women's Soccer Staff

St. Catharine Women's Soccer Coach, Paul Patton announces the addition of Kari Torgerson to the Women's Soccer Staff. She will officially join the athletic program as the Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach on August 1, 2010.

Torgerson, a native of New Hope, Minnesota, attended Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota, serving as the team’s starting goalkeeper for four seasons. A four-time All Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) selection, she was also a three-time all-region pick and a 2005 NCAA Division-II All-American.

Following her playing career, Kari joined the Bemidji State staff as Goalkeepers Coach for the 2007 season and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. She completed her Master’s of Science in Curriculum and Instruction at NCAA Division III, Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. There, she served as a Graduate Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach for the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

"I am very excited about the adding Kari to our coaching staff," Patton noted. "She brings a lot of experience, energy, knowledge of the game, and a fresh perspective to our program. I think she brings a lot to the table, and I look forward to working with Kari and the team this fall."
