SCC Defeats Johnson Bible College

Saturday, October 16, 2010 - The Lady Patriots went on the road to Tennessee today, to take on Johnson Bible College in a first ever meeting of the school's women's soccer teams. The Patriots wasted no time opening up the game as Emily Caras fed Krista Russell for a 1-0 lead only 4 minutes into the game. SCC would continue pressing and scored 7 more goals before halftime.

St. Catharine scored 2 more in the early going of the second half before settling into a more possession oriented and defensive posture to finish out the game with a 10-0 win. The scorers were as follows: Krista Russell (3 goals), Emily Caras, (2 goals, 3 assists), Paola Martinez (2 goals), Mallory Arneson (2 goals), Michelle Dunaway (1 goal, 3 assists), Sarah Castillo (1 assist), Cortney Mattingly (1 assist).

The win extends SCC's record to 7-6 overall and 2-3 in Mid South Conference Play. They will be in action next on Tuesday, October 19 against the University of Rio Grande.
