Patriots Sign Charlotte Jewell From Whitefield Academy

 

Wednesday, September 22 - St. Catharine College Volleyball Coach Adam Stevenson signed Charlotte Jewell for the class of 2011 from Whitefield Academy today.  Charlotte signed a NAIA letter of intent to officially join the SCC volleyball program in a ceremony at her school.
 
Charlotte played Setter for Whitefield Academy and the Louisville Thunder Volleyball Club. She was honored to be named to the All-Region, All-District and All-A State Teams. This season Charlotte was also named the MVP of the Bowling Green “Purples Classic.” While in High School she was in the BETA club and served as the class chaplain. Charlotte plans to major in Nursing at SCC.
 
Whitefield Academy’s Coach Anderson said, “St. Catharine is not only getting one of the finest and most passionate players I have ever coached but someone with great compassion, work ethic, integrity, and humility.” During the ceremony both Charlotte and her mom, Becky, thanked those who made such an impact on Charlotte’s life; from coaches, family, friends, and teammates…“thanks to Kalyn for teaching me how to set.” Kayln Ashley a 2009 graduate from Whitefield and now a student at Spalding University. 
 
“I think Charlotte will have great impact on the St. Catharine Volleyball program,” stated Coach Stevenson. “She already has a great instinct for the game and good foot work; I know that with her work ethic she won’t have any trouble adjusting to the college level speed.”
