Stevens Signs on With Soccer

Tuesday, January 18, 2011 - North Hardin High School girl's soccer standout, Kaylan Stevens, signed an NAIA scholarship contract to play her collegiate soccer at St. Catharine College today.  Kaylan, known to her friends as Kat, made her commitment in a ceremony in the North Hardin High School media center today.

While playing six years for Coach Haley Yourous' North Hardin squad, Stevens earned recognition as the Best Offensive Player twice as well as once being named Most Valuable Player.  She is also an honor role student and has earned an academic Merit Scholarship at St. Catharine in addition to her soccer scholarship.  She plans to major in Nursing at SCC.

Kat is the fifth North Hardin girls soccer player to sign on with St. Catharine in the past three years.  St. Catharine Head Coach, Paul Patton commented, "I am pleased to sign another quality player from North Hardin.  We have a good relationship with Coach Yourous, as well as Coach Skillman, who played both at St. Catharine, and for me during a previous coaching stint.  I am excited that Kat will be joining us, as she is a quality student as well as a good soccer player.  I think she will fit in well at St. Catharine and with our squad."
