Patriots Play Friday in MSC Tournament

Play winner of West Virginia Tech / Rio Grande game

With Saturday’s win over Lindsey Wilson the St. Catharine College Patriots secured the second seed in the upcoming Mid-South Conference tournament at the Frankfort Convention Center. J.T. Burton’s squad will tip off Friday at 4:00 against the winner of the West Virginia Tech/ Rio Grande game that will be played Monday in West Virginia.

The Patriots will take a 20-7 overall record into the tournament and a 14-4 conference slate which put them one game behind Georgetown in the regular season. The Patriots split two games against West Virginia Tech and swept Rio Grande in the two regular season games played.

The Mid-South Conference Tournament will continue Saturday with the semifinal games and conclude with the finals on Sunday. Two teams from the Mid-South Conference receive automatic bids to the NAIA national tournament in Kansas City to be played March 16-22. Georgetown has already secured one spot by winning the regular season championship. The other automatic bid goes to the conference tournament champion but if that is also Georgetown the bid will go to the tournament runner-up.
