Lady Pats Fall To Rival Georgetown

The Lady Patriots dropped two games this weekend to conference rival Georgetown College. Ashley Cardenas (Santa Ana, CA) received the 10-14 loss in game one, while Ashley Hardin (Louisville, KY) received the 3-6 loss in game two.

In game one the Patriots jumped ahead of the Georgetown Tigers in the first inning out scoring them 5-0. Holding the Tigers to just one run in the third, Georgetown came out to score 11 runs with 3 home runs in the fourth. Megan Beecham (Louisville, KY) came in for Cardenas, after a mistaken rule vialation, early in the fourth and finished the game. SCC got the bats going again to score another 5 runs throughout the game but it wasn't enough to capture the win leaving 11 players on base.

In game two the Lady Patriots came up short at the plate, falling behind 0-4 until the fifth inning, when they put 2 on the board. Coming up short SCC could only score one more run. Both the Patriots and the Tigers had 11 hits in the game while SCC left 9 runners on.

On the day Hagan Goldey ( Lancaster, KY) went 4-8, Taylor Steff (Louisville, KY) went 4-6 with 4 RBIs, and Justine Paddock went 3-6 and both Hardin and Chelcie Rein (Louisville, KY) added 3 RBIs a piece.

The Lady Patriots are back in action Wednesday at home for a non-conference double-header with Union College. Play begins at 2:30.
