Baseball Sweep Thunderhawks

St. Catharine College swept visiting Miami University-Middletown (0-4) Sunday afternoon to finish up a 8 game - four day stretch - which saw the Bat Pats go 7-1. With the sweep, SCC rolls out to a 12-3 start and will host Mid-Continent University and Trevecca University on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In game one, starter Travis Adams tossed the first 3 innings to move to (4-0) on the year. He allowed 1 unearned run and had 2 K's. Nick Holmes pitched the final two frames and had 4 K's. Kaleb Henry went 1-2 with a homer, scoring twice and adding 3 RBI's. Shane Young was 2-3 with 2 runs and Philip Dean had a 2-3 day with 2 runs and an RBI. Adam Blair and Daniel Bentley each tripled. The Patriots won 11-1.

In the nightcap, the Bats Pats pounded out 13 hits in route to a 25-2 victory. Daniel Bentley was 2-3 with a double, 3 runs and 4 RBI's. Justin Witt was the only other Patriot with two hits, as he went 2-2 with a triple, 2 runs and 3 RBI's. Brian Beavin, Philip Dean, TJ Mangione and Nick McBride all doubled for the Bat Pats and Adam Blair tripled. Brad Krohman (2-0) picked up the win tossing the first two frames. He had 4 K's and 1 BB. Tim Paxton pitched 2 innings and allowed 1 run and had 3 K's and Jeff Strong tossed the final frame allowing an unearned run.
