Patriots Win Opener in USCAA National Tournament

The St. Catharine College Patriots opened play in the USCAA National Tournament with a 6-0 win over Penn State - Greater Allegheny. In the Tuesday morning (May 12) start at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton, Virginia, Patriot right-hander Travis Adams tossed a one-hitter and fanned 13 in going the distance. Jared Yates had two hits and knocked in two runs in the winning effort. Josh Landers and Philip Dean also had two hits and each scored two runs.

The Patriots improved to 34-14 with the win while Greater Allegheny fell to 31-14. The Patriots will play Tuesday at 5:00 against the winner of the Briarcliffe University/Penn College game.
