The St. Catharine College Patriots took three of four road games this weekend, beating the Golden Bears, 4-1, 2-1, 12-1 and losing 9-5 to move their record to 27-14. Again, the weekend arms for SC led the way, dominating WVU Tech with three complete games.
Ryan Rizzi (Lansing, IL) started the weekend off with a complete game win, tossing 7 innings with no earned runs. He scatterd 7 hits and tallied 5 punchouts. Javier Perez (Henderson, NV) followed with a 7 inning CG in game two. He allowed a run on 5 hits and had 5 K's. Timothy Reed (Tucson, AZ) earned a complete game win, tossing 7 innings, while scattering 7 hits for a run. He struck out 9 Golden Bears. Matt Pavelich (Tucson, AZ) suffered the loss in game 4. He tossed 4 innings, allowing 4 runs (1 earned) on 8 hits. Cory Klinger (Rushlyvania, OH) and Matt Wagner (Brooks, KY) pitched in the 5th, allowing 5 runs on three hits and 3 walks and a HBP.
At the plate, Joey Xavier (Selma, CA) led the Patriots on the weekend. He went 6-10 with 5 RBI's and 3 runs and 2 doubles. Andrew Garcia (Las Vegas, NV) had a 5-13 weekend, with 6 runs, 2 RBI's, a triple, double and 3 swipes. Eric Standafer (Shelbyville, KY) went 6-10 with a double, 2 runs and 2 RBI's. Luis Zeledon (West Corina, CA) had a triple to go with his 4 hits, 3 RBI's and 2 stolen bases. Matt Dillman (LaGrange, KY) homered and added 4 RBI's.
