PATRIOTS BEAT ASBURY FOR 30TH WIN

10 Years of 30 plus win seasons

The St. Catharine College Baseball Club continued their streak of 30 or more wins a season for the tenth straight year Wednesday, knocking off Asbury University 3-0 in Wilmore, KY.  Jake Waardenburg (Klamath Falls, OR) picked up the win, tossing 7 innings of shutout ball.  He tallied 6 K's and scattered 2 hits.

SC scored a run in the first when Juan Moriel (San Diego, CA) doubled and scored on a Andrew Garcia (Las Vegas, NV) single.  The score remained the same until the 8th when Eric Standafer (Shelbyville, KY) doubled and scored on a Charlie Pal (Deerfield Beach, FL) single.  Matt Dillman (LaGrange, KY) singled home Pal for the final margin.

Trenton Claunch (Burgin, KY) and CJ Gant (Louisville, KY) tossed the final two innings of shutout ball.  Gant picked up the save.

Standafer went 2-3 at the plate with a double and a run.  Garcia also tallied 2 base knocks and a RBI.  Moriel added a double and a run.  Every Patriot starter reached base by hit or walk and they left 10 runners on base.

The Patriots return to action Friday when they host MSC foe and #13 ranked Lindsey Wilson College at 2:00.  The series resumes Saturday with a DH at 12:00.
