St. Catharine College shortstop Hagan Goldey has received Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week for the Mid-South Conference. The junior from Lancaster, Ky. leads the conference in batting with a .444 average and a.812 slugging percentage. She is second in the conference in home runs with 12.
In her first week (April 1-7) Goldey hit .579 (11-19) with three homers. She scored 10 runs in the six games that week and finished with a 1.158 slugging percentage.
In last week’s six games Goldey batted .526 (10-19) with two home runs and six RBI’s. Her grand slam led the Patriots to Saturday’s 6-4 win over Georgetown. In the week she scored eight runs, had three stolen bases, a .590 on base percentage and a .842 slugging percentage.
Goldey has hit safely in her last 13 games for St. Catharine who started this week with a 19-29 overall record and 6-16 mark in the Mid-South Conference.
“Hagan has been steady for us all year at the plate and also continues to play excellent defense at shortstop,” said St. Catharine head coach Holly Smith. “She is very deserving of this recognition.”
