Kelsey Pendleton, daughter of Christine and Daniel Pendleton and standout Forward from Boone County High School, officially joined the Patriot Women's Soccer team when she signed an NAIA Scholarship Contract today.
Pendleton has been a mainstay for Coach Mike Hughes' Boone County Lady Rebels team her entire high school career. She was named "Applebees Player of the Month and scored the most points (goals and assists) on the team in 2008. In 2009, Kelsey notched the most assists on the team, was named to the Bourbon County All-Tournament Team, and earned a spot on the Northern Kentucky All-Star team. During the 2010 season Kelsey scored the "Biggest Goal" for Boone County, she was once again named to the Northern Kentucky All-Star team, she was an NKAC Nominee, and she was named to the Kentucky East All-State Honorable Mention team. As a senior in 2011, she once again scored the "Biggest Goal", was named the "Potbelly Student Athlete of the Month", and made the All-Tournament Team for District 17.
Outside of High School Soccer, Pendleton has played for Kings Soccer Academy and more recently of the Classics Hammer FC, Under 18 Premier team coached by Lindsay Niehaus that finished second in the Mid-West Regional League in 2012.
Kelsey has been strong in the classroom in addition to exploits on the pitch. She has been on the All A/B Honor Roll at Boone County asn well as being a member of National Honor Society, FBLA State from 2008 to 2010, and earning Boone County's Citizenship Award. She plans to study Natural Science at St. Catharine, with a long term goal of graduating and becoming a meteorologist.
